Pricing Guidance
What Drives Floating Cover Pricing
Every project is quoted individually. This page explains the variables that move price up or down so you can scope realistic budgets before a sales call.
Why We Don't Publish a Standard Price List
Floating cover projects vary by an order of magnitude in size and complexity — from 5,000 sq ft of Armor Ball® on a dairy lagoon to 1M+ sq ft of Hexprotect® AQUA on a municipal drinking water reservoir. Posting a single $/sq ft figure would either over-quote small projects or under-quote complex ones.
Instead, we publish the factors that move price, return custom quotes within 24 business hours of a complete inquiry, and back every quote with engineering review and spec documentation you can use in your own RFP packages.
Six Factors That Move Price
Use this list to brief your stakeholders before requesting a quote.
Surface Area & Geometry
Square footage drives material volume. Irregular shapes (tapered banks, multi-cell lagoons, perimeter berms) affect cut-and-fit time and edge treatment.
Wind Exposure
Site wind zone determines which product family is appropriate (Armor Ball® for sheltered sites, Hexprotect® AQUA or Rhombo Hexoshield® for exposed reservoirs and frac ponds).
Climate & Insulation Needs
Frost-resistance and R-value requirements push toward insulated products (Hexprotect® MAX R, Rhombo Hexoshield® 189) at higher per-square-foot cost but with offsetting heating/treatment savings.
Logistics & Delivery
Domestic vs. international shipping, port access, customs handling, and crane requirements at the install site all factor in. AWTT supports projects globally through a North American-rooted manufacturing network.
Installation Approach
Self-install with AWTT supervision is typical and lowest cost; full turnkey deployment with AWTT crew available for complex or compliance-sensitive sites.
Customization & Compliance
NSF/ANSI 61 certification for potable water, custom anchoring for unusual perimeters, or branded modules add to project scope.
Estimating ROI Before You Request a Quote
For arid-region reservoirs, water savings alone often justify the project. The evaporation and ROI calculators generate a defensible water-savings number based on your local climate and pond geometry — useful for internal capex justification before you talk to a salesperson.
Other ROI drivers depending on application: algae-treatment chemical reduction (drinking water), digester heating cost reduction (biogas), odor-complaint mitigation (wastewater, dairy), and bird-strike or contamination liability reduction (airports, potable water).
What an AWTT Quote Includes
Included as Standard
- ✓Modular floating cover units engineered for your site conditions
- ✓Engineering review and product recommendation memo

- ✓10-year product warranty
- ✓Specification language and submittal documentation for bid packages
Quoted Separately or Customer-Provided
- ○Site civil work, pond preparation, and existing-cover removal (when applicable)
- ○Freight beyond the agreed delivery point and any customs duties
- ○Installation labor when self-install is selected
- ○Annual visual inspection (recommended but not required)
Lead Times & Payment
- Quote turnaround
- Typically within 24 business hours of receiving complete site details.
- Manufacturing lead time
- Project-dependent. Small projects can ship within weeks; large reservoir projects are scheduled around production capacity and may span 60–120 days from PO.
- Payment terms
- Standard commercial terms with deposit at PO, balance milestones, and final on delivery. Net terms negotiated with established accounts.
- International orders
- AWTT has shipped to 25+ countries. Incoterms negotiated per project; we can quote DDP, FOB, or any standard term.
