Resin Type

All ball and tile products manufactured from UV-stabilized High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE). NSF/ANSI 61 food-contact grade resin available on select SKUs for potable water applications.

Wind Resistance Testing

Wind resistance ratings measured under sustained load at the open water surface. Hexprotect® AQUA achieves 130+ MPH via self-loading water ballast; Rhombo Hexoshield® 66 achieves 130 MPH (water-ballasted); Rhombo Hexoshield® 189 rated at 90+ MPH; Armor Ball® AQUA 275 rated at 75 MPH.

Thermal Insulation (R-Value)

Hexprotect® MAX R achieves R-17+ via 2.5–3" closed-cell polyurethane foam fill (ASTM C518). Hexprotect® AQUA provides R-2 thermal performance via water ballast mass and low-conductivity HDPE shell.

Chemical Compatibility

HDPE shell resists dilute acids, alkalis, alcohols, and most solvents. Not recommended for concentrated oxidizing acids or aromatic hydrocarbons without prior compatibility testing. SDS sheets available on request.

UV Stabilization

All products incorporate carbon black or UV stabilizer packages rated for 25+ year outdoor service. Accelerated weathering tested per ASTM G154. Color-consistent resin blends available for regulatory pond identification.
