Lead Times & Ordering

What to put in a schedule, and what to expect from a purchase order. Lead times by product and plant, minimum order quantities, truckload capacities, and the full ordering sequence — published so you do not have to ask for them.

Lead times by product

All lead times run from receipt of the down payment, not from the quote date. The deposit is what buys the resin and schedules manufacturing, so a purchase order alone does not start the clock.

Product Supplying plant Lead time Notes
Hexprotect® AQUA Trenton SC · Tecate MX · Budapest · Jebel Ali ~10 days to first truckload Balance of a large order completes over roughly 6 weeks, then 1–2 truckloads per week.
Rhombo Hexoshield® Trenton SC ~1 week For tank-sized quantities. The fastest route when a domestic plant is the constraint.
Hexprotect® MAX R Trenton SC ~3 days when foam is in stock Longer if a new insulation foam batch is required. 9,000 sq ft minimum applies.
Armor Ball® Imported Up to ~4 months Armor Ball is imported rather than produced domestically, which sets the lead time.

Plant availability moves. Where one plant is constrained, AWTT will often propose an alternative product or plant that meets the date — ask rather than assume the first answer is the only one.

Minimum order quantities

Hexprotect® MAX R

9,000 sq ft

The insulation foam is supplied in sealed barrels that begin curing once opened, so a partial barrel cannot be kept for a later run. Below the minimum, ask anyway — leftover foam from a recent run can sometimes cover a smaller job.

Non-black colours

10,000 sq ft

Black is standard because the carbon black dye is the UV protection. Other colours use a UV stabiliser package instead, at +$0.25 per sq ft.

Everything else: no formal minimum beyond what is economic to ship.

Truckloads & packaging

Freight is charged by the truck. An order slightly under a full load pays for space it does not use, so it is worth checking quantity against these figures before finalising.

Product Per 53-ft trailer Coverage density Bulk bag
Hexprotect® AQUA ~8,931 sq ft 2.62 tiles/sq ft ~450 pieces per bag
Rhombo Hexoshield® ~6,240 sq ft 10 modules/sq ft ~1,200 pieces per bag

Modules ship loose in bulk bags ("super sacks"), two bags per pallet, double-stacked. Nothing needs unpacking at site beyond opening the bag over the water.

The ordering sequence

  1. 1

    Purchase order

AWTT does not issue an invoice without a PO.

  2. 2

    Account setup

New customer packet; credit application if Net 30 terms are wanted.

  3. 3

    Down-payment invoice

25% of order value. This is the step that buys the resin and schedules manufacturing — lead time starts here.

  4. 4

    Balance invoice

Due before shipment. Freight is re-confirmed at this point.

  5. 5

    Shipment

    Released once payment is received.

Quote validity

Product pricing valid 60 days. Shipping estimates valid 72 hours and budgetary — freight is confirmed and revised on the date of shipment because carrier rates move daily. International quotes exclude taxes, fees, and duties.

Payment

25% down on all orders, balance before shipment. Net 30 available by credit application. Card payments carry a 3.5% processing fee. No invoice is issued without a PO.

Lead times & ordering — frequently asked questions

Procurement answers for schedulers, buyers, and contract administrators.

What are AWTT floating cover lead times?

Hexprotect AQUA is approximately 10 days to the first truckload, with the balance of a large order completing over about six weeks and 1–2 truckloads per week thereafter. Rhombo Hexoshield from Trenton, SC is approximately one week for tank-sized quantities. Hexprotect MAX R is about three days when insulation foam is in stock. Armor Ball can take up to four months because it is imported. All lead times run from receipt of the down payment, not from the quote date.

Why does lead time start at the down payment instead of the purchase order?

Because the deposit buys the resin. AWTT purchases polymer specifically for each order, and the 25% down payment is what allows that purchase to be made and manufacturing to be scheduled. A purchase order on its own does not start production, so it does not start the clock.

Is there a minimum order quantity for floating covers?

Most products have no formal minimum beyond what is economic to ship. There are two exceptions. Hexprotect MAX R has a 9,000 sq ft minimum because its insulation foam is supplied in sealed barrels that begin curing once opened, so a partial barrel cannot be held over. Non-black colours have a 10,000 sq ft minimum. If a MAX R requirement falls below the minimum it is still worth asking — leftover foam from a recent production run can sometimes cover a smaller job.

How much floating cover fits on a truck?

A 53-foot trailer carries approximately 8,931 sq ft of Hexprotect AQUA or approximately 6,240 sq ft of Rhombo Hexoshield. Freight is charged by the truck, so an order slightly under a full load pays for space it does not use. It is worth checking the quantity against the truckload figure before finalising.

How long is an AWTT quote valid?

Product pricing is valid for 60 days. Shipping estimates are valid for 72 hours and are budgetary only — freight is confirmed and revised on the date of shipment because carrier rates move daily. International quotes exclude taxes, fees, and duties.

What payment terms does AWTT offer?

A 25% down payment on all orders, with the balance due before shipment. Net 30 is available through a completed credit application supplied in the new customer packet. Card payments carry a 3.5% processing fee. AWTT does not issue an invoice without a purchase order, and product does not ship before payment is received.

Can I get a sample before ordering?

Yes. Samples are free of charge; you provide a FedEx or UPS account number for shipping. Samples are supplied in black only, as that is what is held in stock.

Need a date you can put in a programme?

Send the surface area, application, and delivery address and AWTT will confirm the lead time against current plant availability along with the quote.
